Public involvement is about human relationships. The key to good quality involvement is the development of equal and reciprocal relationships between public contributors and other members of a project team – and supporting knowledge exchange.
Essentially, four questions are tailored to gather the information:
- How many ways are people involved
- Who sets the agenda
- Whether or not people feel their voices are heard
- And if people feel any change happens as a result of their participation
The feedback from these questions enables meaningful discussion and evaluation. It is an accessible, easy and enjoyable way for participants to engage in the evaluation of the quality of public involvement.
